Charlie Wilson’s War

December 22, 2007 at 6:01 pm (Amusing Life Experiences, domestic affairs)

I saw “Charlie Wilson’s War” today and I suggest that everyone go and see the movie. Good book and good movie!

“It’s absolutely astounding the lengths to which the Justice Department have gone to try and figure out what I did in a hot tub in Las Vegas. If they had put the same resources into drug trafficking… there would be half as much heroin coming into the United States as there is now.” -Charlie Wilson

Chihuahua Friday

December 21, 2007 at 1:01 pm (Amusing Life Experiences)

chihuahua_protesters_sm.jpg

I came across this website about different breeds of dogs and they seemed to really adhere to the Chihuahua ideology.

http://www.obeythepurebreed.com/

Here is what they have to say about the Chihuahua:

“Your Chihuahua dog is a militant dictator who will stop at nothing in achieving world domination. Chihuahuas have already infiltrated thousands of homes, and reduced their “owners” to mere servants. In the Chihuahua Revolution, there are no shades of grey, and you are either with them, or against them. Let family and friends know that you are a Chihuahua Fundamentalist, and support their diabolical quest for World Domination with this “Obey the Chihuahua!” propaganda.”

It seems that Teri and I were destined for a friendship confined to cyberspace…but that changed when we met up for some fun last night! Dr. Studly couldn’t make it because he wanted to be manly and watch football ( which we watched at the Front Porch). Thank you, Kelly!

Bush Veto Overthrown While He Was Holding Up Houston Traffic…

November 8, 2007 at 2:35 pm (Amusing Life Experiences, Houston, Republicans)

random-010.jpg

Whew.  What a day o’Bush.  I am SO over GW already, and I haven’t even been to the gym yet…  Here is the play-by-play of today, in true Teri Hagen writing style.  (By “writing style” those of you who know me know it means that I just throw out what I am thinking and hope that its decipherable to others.)

So, here at Mage, we realize that there is some chaos happenin’ outside of our windows in that mess of 45 & I10 & Allen Parkway.  Mind you, we have HUGE windows so we get a fantastic view of HPD having a field day closing every road in sight.  What a mess!! I mean, that stuff was backed up for MILES.  After the entire office piled into the conference room for 15 minutes to enjoy the hype of the preparations for The Geeb, we get to finally see the 50 car (no Priuses, mind you.  All 6-ton armoured gas-guzzlers) motorcade scootin’ down AP.  I totally told the kids here that we know, K-N-O-W, that Bush is totally chillaxin’ in that limo, reading US Weekly or some garbage (Highlights, maybe?), gnawin’ on some beef jerky (peppered, of course.) and drinking a Big Red.  Make that a Diet Big Red.  Girl’s gotta watch her figure, you know.

Same scenario right at noon.  Noon.  In downtown Houston.  Thanks, guy.  The citizens who are now faced with being 45 minutes late back to their offices after that well-deserved lunch at Christian’s Tailgate (best burgers in the city, yo) are PISSED.

So, then- Instant Karma.  Congress hands the Traffic Tyrant an overthrown veto for lunch.  Thank goodness someone finally agreed that we need to focus cash here and not on an unwinnable war.  (Did I totally just make that word up??  Profs??)

So, above we have a pic of the mess caused out there today, and below, a picture of another large horse’s ass from the Ren Fest.

Heading to get my cardio on at my new gym,

Naomi Campbell meets Hugo Chavez

November 1, 2007 at 10:22 am (Amusing Life Experiences, Latin America, Latin Left)

gypsy-caroline.jpg

God help us… Naomi Campbell and Hugo Chavez met in Venezuela….those two are the last people that should be meeting. Why on earth is she meddling in international politics? The last “political statement” she made was appearing nude in an anti-fur campaign. I believe that if she were really concerned with the direction of geo politics she wouldn’t fling cell phone’s at people. Could it be that her modeling career is in its twilight and she wants any kind of attention she can get?

Chavez seemed to really enjoy her visit and stated that she was “a very special lady”, but then his speech quickly degenerated into his hate for the United States and President Bush.  Although, Naomi is actually British her visit was used by Chavez as a pulpit to continue his barrage of insults to the U.S.

On a different note…I attended a Halloween costume party last night at the Alden hotel. A few local celebrities were there including, Whitney Casey, the host of Great Day Houston. I met her, she was really nice and really tall. She is 6 feet tall and was wearing three inch heels.

I went as a gypsy…see picture above.

Dr. Studly and his lady dressed up their dogs as a hot dog and lady bug. Lola was a bumble bee….neither of the dogs enjoyed their Halloween fun. Lola looks like someone ate her Halloween treats. The costumes kept the humans amused!

Spooky

October 31, 2007 at 2:13 pm (Amusing Life Experiences)

spooky-sissy.jpgsissy.jpg

For those that know me know that I love Halloween and anything to do with ghosts. The Discovery Channel has a show called “A Haunting” that always frightens me to death and it has been shown everyday in October. My contribution to Halloween is this spooky picture of a ruin in England that some say is haunted. I like this picture because my sister fits in well with her hair blowing in the wind…it was REALLY cold that day. Perfect day for spooks.
